We provide a safe, loving, and dignified home for the elderly—where every heart is valued, and every life is cherished.
"Restoring dignity and providing a loving sanctuary for those who have spent their lives caring for us."
Mercy House (MHO) is a registered non-profit organisation, constituted to exist in its own right—separate from its members, able to own property, and carry out its activities with an altruistic intent. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing, family-like home for the elderly.
"At MHO, we don't just provide housing—we provide a family for those who may have been forgotten."
As a registered non-profit organisation, Mercy House is guided by a formal constitution approved in Cape Town on 23 October 2018. Our objectives shape every aspect of the care and community upliftment we provide.
Improving literacy, numeracy, English, Maths & Science, French, and computer literacy for community members and adults alike.
Equipping community members with CV writing, internet job searching, and interview preparation to unlock better futures.
Raising awareness in vulnerable communities—especially youth—about HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB, and related health conditions.
Providing community services to refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants regarding health, rights, and dignified living conditions.
Empowering communities—especially men and boys—to take a firm stand against gender-based violence and gender inequality.
Promoting the basic human rights of key populations and building capacity in Education, Health, and Human Rights.
Comprehensive care tailored to the physical, emotional, and social well-being of each resident.

The families of our residents share what Mercy House truly means to them and their loved ones.
"Sending my mother to Mercy House was the hardest but best decision I've made. The staff treats her with more love than I could have imagined. She has found friends and a new lease on life."
"The level of dignity maintained at Mercy House is incredible. My father is not just a patient—he is a respected elder here. The medical team is thorough and always communicates with us."
"From the moment we walked in, we felt peace. The staff are not just caregivers—they are genuine friends to our grandmother. She lights up every time she talks about her days here."
"We were worried about my uncle adjusting after being alone for so long. Within weeks he was laughing, joining activities, and calling it home. That peace of mind is priceless."
